​'STOGA SWIM AND DIVE

District Championships - February 27-28, 2020

The Conestoga Swim and Dive teams competed in the District 1 Championships this past week, and put forth a strong and spirited effort.  The divers hit the boards of North Penn on Feb 22, while the swimmers competed at LaSalle on Feb 27 - 28.

There were 16 boys who had earned the right to represent Stoga at Districts:

Overall, the Stoga boys finished a very strong 3rd place, behind only powers North Penn and Upper Dublin.  Placewinners (top 8) for the boys were:

Gary Wang (8th) – 100 Yd Butterfly
James Hughes, Gary Wang, Raymond Welgosh, Stephen Graver (3rd) – 200 Yd Free Relay

Gary Wang (8th) – 100 Yd Breaststroke
Matthew Pawlow, Raymond Welgosh, Luke Nagel, Stephen Graver (6th) – 400 Yd Free Relay

The girls team finished a close 4th behind North Penn, Upper Dublin, and WC Henderson.  Placewinners for the girls squad were:

Many of the swimmers likely recorded times that will qualify them for States, which takes place at Bucknell on March 11-14, 2020.  Final rosters will be determined after results from all of the Districts are recorded.

Congratulations to all of the Conestoga swimmers, divers, coaches and parents who took part in the 2020 District meet.  A job very well done!
